Dr. Paul Roberts Outstanding Contributor
Dr. Paul Roberts was an integral part of Greyhound athletics during the 1960’s and 70’s providing physicals for all of the teams’ players. He also served as the team physician rarely missing any of the games – home or away. His service to the team, besides the physicals, was to provide necessary medical attention due to an injury at games. After leaving his Sweet Springs medical practice in 1973, he continued giving physicals for the players although his new schedule prevented him from attending as many games as before. Dr. Roberts passed away in 1983 but always cherished a plaque given to him by the 1974 football team honoring him as the “Team Doctor” even though he was never officially part of the team.
